Player Run events and quests
I have noticed several people recently running player events and have for a long time thought that the ability for players influence the game world is something that guild wars is missing. Guilds are currently the only real 'player owned' areas and they exist mainly for functional PVP purposes.
What I would like to see is a major update that provides some sort of dev support to allow player run events to be created within the framework of the game.
An nps quest maker could be created in guild halls (or towns) that allows players to set up their own quests for other players. A creation tool or set of options would be required that would allow players to either use existing monsters/bosses or set up their own quest parameters (place monsters, bosses, items etc) within an instanced area that is accessed by the quest giver.
Some examples:
1) I want to set up a simple quest from Lion's Arch for groups to claim a reward for killing 20 undead in the area - reward 500xp - 50 gold
100 people may take the quest from an npc which will be placed in lions arch.
After setting up the parameters and entering the quest text of the quest I need to pay:
(sensible amount here) for setting up the quest
5000g to pay for the rewards (100 people x 50g reward)
50,000xp is deducted from my xp total to pay for the xp that will be gained by other players.
2) I wish to set up a lvl 20 charr boss quest from Pikens - Boss may drop a gold item.
As above but this time I need to choose the boss location, lvl and skills, and number and type of char in his group (and any along the route)
In addition to the above payments xp-gold reward etc, this time I also need to 'deposit' a number of unidentified gold items that I wish the boss to randomly drop (maybe 1 in 50)
Aside from attracting rpg players to the game, it would act as a HUGE gold sink for richer guilds and give players something to do with xp and unused skill points (amongst other things).
